All Washington concrete contractors A–Z
How to hire a concrete contractor in Clark County
- Check the license yourself. Every contractor here holds an active Washington L&I contractor registration with a concrete specialty. Look the license number up on L&I's Verify a Contractor tool before you sign anything (how to check).
- Get at least three written quotes that list the same scope: square footage, slab thickness, base preparation, reinforcement (rebar or mesh), finish, and who removes the old concrete.
- Ask who pulls the permit. Many driveway approaches, foundations and structural slabs need a permit from the city or county. A good contractor knows the local rules and includes it in the price.
- Don't pay most of it up front. A modest deposit is normal. Tie the rest to milestones such as forms set, pour completed, and final clean-up.
- Agree on curing and access. Ask how long before you can walk on the concrete and when you can drive on it, and who seals it.
Weather in Western Washington
West of the Cascades, rain is the main constraint. Ask how the contractor plans drainage and slope away from your house, how they protect a fresh pour from rain, and whether they recommend a sealer. Summer is the busiest season, so book early if your timing is tight.
